Rationale
Ζῶν γὰρ ὁ λόγος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐνεργὴς καὶ τομώτερος ὑπὲρ πᾶσαν μάχαιραν δίστομον καὶ διϊκνούμενος ἄχρι μερισμοῦ ψυχῆς καὶ πνεύματος, ἁρμῶν τε καὶ μυελῶν, καὶ κριτικὸς ἐνθυμήσεων καὶ ἐννοιῶν καρδίας·
ὀ βλόγος is a place where I exercise my first-year Biblical Greek training. I created this blog as a way to keep myself accountable to my pastor’s challenge to translate at least one Bible verse from Greek every day.
Because the original language is so rich with meaning, there is a lot behind most English interpretations which remains unstated. The blessing of reverting to the original language is that such hidden truth can be rediscovered, thus deepening the interpreter’s understanding of the text, and sometimes changing it altogether. ὁ βλογος tries to shed light on that kind of stuff whenever I come across it.
You won’t find much original thought here. I am not smart enough to venture into uncharted theological space. But perhaps you will simply benefit from some of my work. Such is my prayer and my purpose in maintaining this blog.
